Nikita Salnikov-Tarnovski announced JavaOne 2014 Rock Star

February 12, 2015 by Ivo Mägi

For the second year in a row, Plumbr co-founder and master developer, Nikita Salnikov-Tarnovski was announced JavaOne Rock Star by Oracle and listed at Rock Star Wall of Fame. His daily job at Plumbr is to help the engineering team to overcome technical challenges and be a translator between user-management-engineering languages.

The recognition was given to Nikita for his talk or more of a tutorial session „Where Is My Memory“ that related to how Java applications consume and use memory while running. He talked about the general methodology and techniques on how this problem can be detected and solved. „The recognition shows that I can really contribute back to the community. I have enough experience and skills to help the next generation of developers to be better“, says Salnikov-Tarnovski.

“JavaOne conference is definitely a high moment of the year for me. You can meet fellow engineers and learn from people who are a lot smarter than you”, says Salnikov-Tarnovski. Nikita is used with audience and he feels quite comfortable speaking in front of 300 people. As he is an experienced conference speaker, his favorite topics at talks are related to his daily job – Java performance optimization, troubleshooting, tools and processes. “A great audience is curious, eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions”, Salnikov-Tarnovski adds.

The Rock Star Program started in 2005 to recognize speakers for their outstanding session content and speaking ability. The JavaOne 2014 Rock Stars are the top rated speakers from JavaOne 2014. Their contributions to JavaOne conference education and their commitment to the technology community has made JavaOne the premier Java conference.
