Gleb Smirnov joins Plumbr
Plumbr, a Java performance monitoring solution, announced that renowned software development engineer and conference speaker Gleb Smirnov has joined the company as Java engineer, reporting directly to Plumbr co-founder, master developer and JavaOne 2013 Rock Star Nikita Salnikov-Tarnovski.

Smirnov comes to Plumbr with great experience in Java software development, having gained previous work experience at Deutsche Bank as lead software development engineer and at Russian Internet Company Yandex as software engineer. His first goal at Plumbr is to further reduce the amount of memory and CPU cycles Plumbr Agent needs to efficiently detect performance problems. As Plumbr often monitors very critical systems its own performance overhead has to be minimal.
Plumbr has already transformed how companies manage application performance in today’s complex environments by automatically identifying how to fix your Java application before it breaks. According to Salnikov-Tarnovski, automated actions are the path where many of the APM analytics tools will be headed in the future.
Smirnov has studied in Saint-Petersburg State University of Information Technology. He is a valued conference speaker (JavaOne, JPoint, JEEConf, JokerConf, GeeCon and others) whose numerous articles have been published in Russia’s leading IT blogs.
